What is Uehā Mataora Services?
Uehā Mataora- Mataora Service provides support for whānau experiencing mamae or distress from the challenges that arise in life’s journey. Through wānanga- an inclusive space where whānau voices are heard, stories are honoured, and aspirations for change are explored to raise our collective consciousness to live well, to thrive.
Grounded by the Mahi a Atua framework, our approach is whānau centred, holistic and reinstates a te ao Māori way of knowing, feeling, being, and healing- reclamation of mātauranga Māori. We walk alongside whānau on creative pathways to oranga whakapapa, ensuring that aspirations are whānau-led, culturally anchored and clinically supported where whānau need.
As Mataora we work as change agents to address systemic barriers and inequities, striving for meaningful change and improved outcomes for our people.
If you are navigating a time of change, or seeking space to reflect and be supported Uehā Mataora is here. Nau mai, haere mai, we welcome you.

Kaiarataki
Andria leads Uehā Mataora with 24 years of service experience across diverse communities. She remains steadfast in placing mātauranga Māori at the heart of this kaupapa, her leadership is deliberate in exploring reindiginised pathways for whānau to stand in their own power, lead their healing journey to a future of change.
Lorraine has over 28 years of experience across acute mental health services in Tāmaki Makaurau and as a lecturer to nursing tauira at Awanuiārangi, AUT, and Waipapa Taumata Rau. These experiences have reinforced her belief that hauora is achieved through whanaungatanga, education, and the reclamation of Māori pathways to wellbeing.
Their team come together with whānau to share knowledge and lived experience, learn from each other, explore their stories and seek a new understanding to transformation- collectively.
